Providing secure access to mobile banking for 5+ million clients
Erste Group is one of the largest financial services providers in CEE. It manages the money of almost 16 million clients. This requires an extremely secure login system for internet banking. Applifting developed an SDK for Android and iOS mobile platforms for customer authentication and integrated it into the George application in the 6 countries where the Erste group uses it.

The Locker SDK was to unify the login process.
The secure authentication process within the George app needed to be the same for all countries. It also had to comply with PSD2 legislation. The SDK solution enables clients to gain safe access to their bank accounts via their mobile devices. It uses various safety levels, including biometrics (fingerprints, facial recognition), PIN and gestures for maximum login comfort.
Challenge: Compatibility for 6 countries
That tailor-made secure process had to be fully compatible.
It needed to be in line with 6 country-specific internet banking systems. Furthermore, many different means of customer identity verification had to be incorporated.
Solution: Safety first
The system prevents possible data leaks and cyber attacks.
It complies with PSD2 legislation and has passed Visa security checks. It operates successfully in 6 countries and processes approximately 74 million logins per month.
