Erste Group Bank AG, one of the largest financial services providers in CEE, wanted to scale up its George banking app and add new features suitable for small businesses. They approached us because of our previous collaboration on the George app and our experience with other FinTech projects.

Mission: New app features
The client wanted to boost the existing George app.
Their goal was to attract a new segment of customers—small businesses. New features were to be made in the current app and rolled out to the users as soon as possible under the name George Pro.
Challenge: A diverse team
GeorgeLabs did not have enough developers at the time.
That's why we created the first hybrid team together with a subsidiary company responsible for the development. The main challenge was to form a well-functioning Scrum team with members of different nationalities and technological backgrounds.
Solution: Leadership and ownership
The key to success was personal relationships
and responsibility. A team of highly skilled developers was assembled very carefully, and regular reviews with a product owner were established. Everyone took ownership of their domain and focused on the highest quality of service. We also emphasized the high standard of Scrum ceremonies.
