Shoptet
Intro
Shoptet is a leading e-commerce platform that empowers entrepreneurs to turn their business dreams into reality. From launching their first online store to growing a successful business, Shoptet supports merchants across Czechia, Slovakia and Hungary at every stage of their journey.
They came to us with a development team already in place and a clear plan for the build. What they were looking for was a design partner: the flows, the screens, the design system underneath them, and copy inside the app.

Mission
Not all e-shop work happens at a desk
When the previous third-party app was discontinued, Shoptet asked its merchants whether they would miss it. They would. Many don’t run their e-shop as their main business, and the work the app carried — checking orders, moving stock, handling products away from the computer — had gone back to the desktop.
The brief split in two: which parts of a long-established web admin belong on a phone, and what every one of those screens says. Shoptet wanted a tone of voice their team could keep writing in after we handed over, too.

Challenge
One small screen, and a brand mid-refresh
A web admin built over years carries a lot of information: orders, stock, products, pricing, and for some merchants, several shops to switch between. Compressing that onto a phone without losing clarity was the core design problem. Merchants use this app between other jobs, so every screen had to stay quick to read and quicker to act on.
Shoptet had recently refreshed its brand and was exploring how to carry the new visual identity into its products, including the mobile app. Setting the app’s visual direction meant developing it alongside that work: several rounds of concepts, a jointly tuned colour palette, and an agreed way of applying the brand’s visual language, so the app felt consistent with the wider Shoptet ecosystem.
Solution
Every screen, and a system to keep making more
We worked outwards from structure: a sitemap of the flows, then high-fidelity wireframes their product owners could react to before anyone drew a finished pixel. Then a component-by-component audit of Shoptet's web design system: what to cut, what to replace, what stays shared with the web, and what goes app-specific.
What we delivered:
Every screen in the app, wireframed first and designed in full: stock, products, barcode scanning through the phone camera, and more.
An atomic component set, every value driven by Figma variables.
A master library in Shoptet's Figma, so any of their designers can pull components into any file.
Accessibility in the design layer: contrast, target sizes, states.
Every string in the app, plus a tone-of-voice manual their team writes from now. We kept the web-admin terms merchants navigate by and improved everything around them.
We tested before handover with merchants on real devices. One tidbit confirmed why it's necessary: our order preview listed the products beside the order number and the date, a layout we liked. But every tester found the products unnecessary, so we cut them.

Testimonials
“The whole process felt friendly and collaborative, with open communication and a shared focus on finding the best solutions. The outcome provided us with a solid foundation that we could continue to build on and develop further in-house.”
